We believe that successful fundraising requires a compelling mission, a positive image, an effective leadership group, a knowledgeable staff and a plan. Our job is to help you identify and organize the leadership, orient and support the staff and develop and implement the plan. The interest is in creating effective development programs - not merely making recommendations that gather dust until the organization finds the time to implement them. While the basic principles of fundraising are constant, each non-profit organization is different. Recognizing this, we try to learn about your needs and environment before proposing solutions. This is usually accomplished through an on-site meeting with management. For start-up programs, this initial visit can also be used to orient board members as to their roles in the development process. After the visit, the client may request a formal proposal. We will submit a written proposal within a week and be available to present it to the board of directors, when board approval is appropriate. Our consulting approach is grounded in personal visits and face to face meetings. We routinely attend all foundation meetings and are readily accessible by phone. Our goal is to give you a thriving, self-sufficient development program. Our fees are offered on either a project retainer or a per diem basis. Travel expenses including transportation, meals and overnight accommodations are billed separately. |
